How to use your Brushes

Facial & Exfoliating Brush

A gentle brush massage can become a small skincare ritual: it removes loose skin flakes, massages the skin and helps you consciously take a few minutes for yourself.

Preparation

Cleanse your face as usual and dry your skin thoroughly. Gently brush each area of your face about 4 to 8 times using sweeping or circular movements. Apply only as much pressure as feels comfortable.

Facial massage with the GeMa Brush

Step by step

  1. Start at the décolletage with gentle circular movements.
  2. Brush upwards along the neck towards the cheekbones, lifting your chin slightly.
  3. Sweep from the chin along the jaw towards the ear – first on one side of the face, then the other.
  4. Start below the nose and sweep across the cheeks towards the ears.
  5. Gently sweep outwards from the bridge of the nose towards the cheeks.
  6. The eye area is particularly sensitive. Keep well clear of the eye itself and brush very gently around the eyes towards the temples. Here especially, less is more.
  7. Sweep upwards along the bridge of the nose, between the eyes and towards the forehead.
  8. Then brush the forehead in several lines towards the hairline.

Allow around 4 minutes for the whole facial massage. Afterwards, apply your usual skincare products.

The mechanical massage may cause mild, temporary redness or tingling. Stop if you experience unpleasant burning, stronger irritation or persistent discomfort.

Finishing – consciously relax

To finish, gently tap your face and head with your fingertips. Start at the crown, move to the forehead, temples and cheeks, then along the jaw, neck and collarbone. Use only very light pressure around the eyes.

What matters is that the treatment feels pleasant, rather than following a perfect routine.

“Brush and tap yourself beautiful – because it feels good and because you are worth it.”

Full-Body Dry Brushing

Dry brushing can also be a mindful skincare and massage ritual for the body. The brush removes loose skin flakes, mechanically stimulates the skin and can leave your body feeling pleasantly invigorated.

How to use

We recommend using it on dry skin, for example in the morning before showering. Brush gently without strong pressure. Around 5 minutesis enough for the whole body.

Brushing directions for full-body dry brushing
  1. Start with one leg and brush upwards from the bottom. Then repeat on the other leg.
  2. Next, brush the hands and arms towards the shoulders.
  3. Massage the abdomen and chest with gentle movements.
  4. Finish by brushing your back, as far as you can comfortably reach.

Afterwards, shower and care for your skin as usual. Your own comfort is what matters: you should feel the massage, but it should not irritate or injure your skin.

When should you take a break?

Do not brush over open wounds or acutely irritated or inflamed skin. If you have a skin condition, significant vascular problems or any uncertainty, seek medical advice before use.

GeMa Fascia & Massage Brush

Strong yet mindful – an intensive brush massage for body awareness.

The GeMa Fascia & Massage Brush is made from oiled beechwood and firm natural agave fibres. Unlike the softer body massage brush, it creates a noticeably stronger sensation on the skin. So remember: Brush mindfully and with controlled pressure, rather than as firmly as possible.

How to use the Fascia & Massage Brush

  1. Start gently: Begin on dry skin with light pressure.
  2. Brush slowly: Use calm, even strokes over the arms, legs or back.
  3. Pay attention: Use small, gentle circular movements on tense areas.
  4. Adjust the pressure: Increase it only while it remains comfortable. Avoid vigorous rubbing or painful brushing.
  5. Notice the sensation: Stop after a few minutes and consciously notice how your skin and body feel.

For therapeutic use, too

Trained therapists can use the brush for superficial skin stimulation and as preparation for a treatment, for example before myofascial techniques. It does not replace targeted fascia treatment.

Cleaning and care

Clean with warm water and mild soap, rinse thoroughly and allow to air-dry completely.

Good to know

  • Start with short sessions and light pressure.
  • Do not use on injured, inflamed or severely irritated skin.
  • Stop if you experience pain or unusual skin reactions.

GeMa tip: Combine brushing with calm breathing to create a small, mindful break for yourself.

Remember: “After your shower comes Stockgehen.” 😉
