Introductory exercise: Hand acupressure for relaxation before walking on the stick
The relaxation point and "emergency point" in the middle of the palms of the hands can also be stimulated well with the GeMa Stick . This point is connected to the heart and the crown chakra. The strong pressure on this point in the middle of the hand has a calming effect. In addition, the hand fascia is relaxed and the tissue becomes elastic again. The connective tissue of the hand is extremely receptive to pressing, pulling and kneading. A final hand stretching exercise, walking after the stick, promotes blood circulation and the fingers become more flexible.
Take your GeMa Stick and place the round ends of the stick in the middle of your palms. Stretch your hands out over your head. We use the principle of tension and relaxation - similar to progressive muscle relaxation. This way you take advantage of the effect that the relaxation of the back and shoulder muscles is transferred to other muscle groups, which is followed by a relaxation process throughout the body. Breathe slowly and deeply into your stomach and tense as many muscles as possible while pressing your palms against the Gema stick. Hold your breath briefly and relax again while you breathe out. "Inhale - tension, hold your breath, exhale - relaxation". Repeat this exercise 3-5 times in each position. Keep changing your stretched hand position and observe your neck and shoulder area until you arrive with your hands in your original position at the sides of your body.
Thereafter...
Put the GeMa Stick on the floor and step on the stick with both feet, starting at the toes and ending just before the heel, in very small steps. The entire soles of the feet and also the inner and outer edges of the feet should be well stimulated and massaged. Walk backwards and forwards and repeat this exercise daily for 5 to 15 minutes. It is important to smile! Be happy that you are doing something good for yourself and taking time for yourself and your well-being. In addition, when you smile, your brain releases happiness hormones and the level of your stress hormones drops. Correct breathing also supports the positive effect of foot reflexology acupressure. Breathe in through your nose, place your tongue on the roof of your mouth, breathe out through your mouth and release your tongue. Good music is also a must. Get away from everyday life for the next 5 - 10 minutes, think less and feel more. Imagine you are walking barefoot in nature. This visualization grounds the mind, calms and relaxes.
When things get uncomfortable...
Yes, some places can be and become uncomfortable. Maybe you notice uncomfortable spots on the sole of your foot or you suddenly feel your hips, for example - that's what happened to Gerald at the beginning ;-). That's perfectly fine. Please don't see pain as an enemy, but as a signpost to relaxation. It will disappear as soon as the corresponding area of the body relaxes and is flooded with energy. Feel exactly where the uncomfortable spot is. Is it a dull or stabbing pain? Direct your attention and your breath to that exact spot. Stay focused in the present and move on gently and slowly. Pain that appears in the body is usually tension that can extend from the foot (fascia) up to the neck and is responsible for many problems in the body. With the GeMa Stick exercise you can release your tension very effectively. General tension also leads to tension and indicates fear of the unknown or too much pain. Always make sure that you let your breath flow and that your jaw muscles are relaxed - please don't clench your teeth. It is a learning process to feel the pain, to accept it and then to let it go with your breathing. This is the only way to release physical and emotional blockages. You may not feel any uncomfortable parts of your body, but your emotions are boiling over - and that is also completely fine. Feelings such as anger, rage and sometimes sadness can come up and maybe even be breathed out with tears. If you get a kind of chill after walking with the stick, this is usually a healing effect because your body energy goes inwards and works for you there.
Important:
As with the initial worsening process in homeopathy or after physiotherapy, symptoms may temporarily become more severe. This is a good sign that the GeMa Stick is working, your body is adjusting to the unusual exercise, releasing a reaction and your self-healing powers have been activated.
You know this from sport. You haven't done anything for a while and you feel every muscle in your body. Your body has to get used to the movement again. It's similar with your feet. You've never walked on the stick before, so you'll naturally feel a lot more at the beginning than after regular walking on the stick.

Experiment:
Stand with your feet hip-width apart and bend your upper body forward. Observe: How does your body feel? How close can you reach the floor with your fingers?
Now start walking with the stick for at least 10 minutes. Then try again to see how close you can reach the ground with your fingers. What has changed?
